The Polish Association for Analytical Psychology was established in February 2001 in Warsaw. The founders of the PTPA were the first attendees of an analytical psychology course organized by the International Association for Analytical Psychology. At the founding meeting in February 2001, the Board of Management, the Audit Committee and the Court of Arbitration (Ethics Committee) were elected as the authorities of the PTPA. The Statute of the Association (developed in 2000 by the participants of the analytical course) was adopted in April 2001. The District Court in Warsaw approved the Statute and the association entered into the National Court Register. The first home base of PTPA (from 2001 to 2005) was in Warsaw; then from 2005 to 2009 in Kraków. In January 2010, the PTPA headquarters moved to Wroclaw.
In August 2001, during the 15th International Congress of the International Association for Analytical Psychology in Cambridge, IAAP board awarded PTPA with the Developing Group status.
Since 2010 PTPA has the Routers Group status.
On November 10th, 2015 the PTPA joined the Polish Council of Psychotherapy.
